Breakfast at my House

Breakfast as a person with an autimmune disease is about more than the normal American Diet. I treat breakfast as the most important meal of the day. I fill it with nutrients to get the day going and give me energy. I also have a teenage athlete here so giving a protein packed meal that can slowly release energy is important to. WWe do not need the crash happening right when his baseball game is about to start!

This is a pretty large bagel sandwish even though it looks small. For my athlete I always shoot for around 25 grams of protein before a game. My go to green is argrula which has worked wonders with him. It is packed with nutrients but also keeps his energy going for many hours.

On this particular morning I had some leftover pork ribs from the night before. I cut them and heated them up along with some potato wedges.

Fried up an egg and tomato, threw it on with the argrula and pork ribs, sprinkled with nutritional yeast, (again for that punch of energy), and a dash of hot sauce. I also have some saurkraut of this sandwich because it goes great with the rib and argrula and also helps with gut health. Evryone should eat probitocs for breakfast!

There you have it. It is halthier than stopping at McDonalds so your athlete has a crash from processed foods 2 hours after he eats before his 3 hour game even starts! Also it helps finding things to do with your leftovers!
